Before starting the topic let us discuss digital marketing briefly.

Anything that you are promoting by the use of electronic devices (laptops, desktops, mobiles, televisions) is digital marketing. With the internet taking over the world digital marketing is the new parameter to measure the success of a business. A successful digital marketing campaign will ensure brand awareness not only that as a business owner you will notice revenue is getting higher and you are acquiring customer retention.

But what is a successful digital marketing campaign and how to achieve that? You can check the answer to this question on my blog. Before running any marketing campaign, you have to study your audience or let me say targeted audience.

What is the targeted audience? In digital marketing it means, that product that you are going to promote is suitable for which age group? which demographics? which gender? and many more.

After selecting the audience next step is to select the budget for your ad campaigns. You can select a daily budget weekly or monthly budget. It all depends on how much you want to spend on marketing. Try to run 2 to 3 different marketing campaigns, observe the result that you are getting from these campaigns hold the ones which are not giving expected results, and optimize the ones which are proving beneficial for your business. Some time running 2 3 ad campaigns is also called A/B testing,

Now, most people are doing this to start any campaign on any social media platform. Everyone is doing the same thing so the competition is very high. Here comes the 5 D's, this will help you to stand out from others and give you a competitive edge. 

In this article, we will discuss 5D's of digital marketing. How these can help you to take your marketing campaign to the next level. How can fine-tuning your marketing campaign can make a difference to millions?

1. Digital Device

Any kind of marketing that you are doing on mobile phones, laptops/desktops, smart TVs, or gaming devices is marketing on digital devices. According to a survey conducted by Statista, " the current number of smartphone users in the world today is 6.648 billion, and this means 83.72% of the world population own a smartphone"

Just sit back and think about it if your marketing campaign is not incorporating marketing on smartphones, how many potential customers you are missing? how much revenue you can generate by including a mobile phone marketing strategy in your campaign. Let’s shed some light on this topic also.

A survey conducted by Statista has shown the following information.

"In the fourth quarter of 2021, smartphones accounted for 71 percent of retail site visits in the United States and generated 58 percent of online shopping orders. Desktop computers generated only 27 percent of retail website traffic but represented 39 percent of all purchases"

When you are reaching your targeted audience on their smartphones, tablets, or mobile phones through SMS, MMS, email, or any social media app that is mobile marketing. The pace of the world is increasing day by day people now are not free enough to open their laptops and check their email or check any products that they want to purchase on a laptop or desktop. All of this and much more they can do on their smartphones with few touches from anywhere.

Keeping these things in mind you have to create a user-friendly landing page/website or any mobile app that can open easily on the mobile phone without any kind of fuss.

From the data that you will get from your website that how many people are visiting your site daily from mobile phones. Read that data carefully and check for the time at which people are coming to visit your site. Send SSM (offline marketing) about your product at that time. This will leave a positive impact on your audience.  

2. Digital Platforms 

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest are examples of digital platforms. Running campaigns on these platforms is a must. Almost all of the world is connected through these platforms in some way or the other. Take these platforms to your advantage, show your social presence try running different campaigns, and check which is giving you the best result. The one which is giving you the best result runs that for a few months after that check the trends and if required change again.

3. Digital Media

The mode of communication that you will use to reach out to your audience is digital media. It could be anything from Paid Per Click (PPC), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), advertising on television, email, and many more. Your content in this mode should be very precise and to the point.

In this mode of marketing, you have to reach out to your audience

Do the research on your competitor and check out which strategies or influencers they are using to sell their product. Do your homework properly when your content reaches the audience it should convince them to buy your product

4. Digital Data

As explained earlier selecting your audience is very important based on this selection all of the next steps are based. So, the question comes how you can collect all of this data and then how you analyze this data? let me help you with this.

You can do online surveys to your advantage and ask questions to the public about what they like and what they don't. Your survey should be short so that it does not take too much time to fill out. All the questions should be relevant to the product and try to gather more information in a short time.

Another way that you can collect information is through apps and contact forms. Once all of the information is gathered. Decode your data and check which age group likes it. Do your segmentation and based on that start your campaigns.

5. Digital technology

When you start using technology in your campaign. This step really boosts your brand to the next level. The best example of this is promoting your brands on large displays (kiosks) inside or outside malls or any other high-traffic area where the most people can see your ad.

If you are not including 5 D's in your marketing campaigns it is more likely that you will not see the results that you are expecting. In the worst case, it can lead to a failed campaign. So, it is highly recommended that include all of these methods in your strategy to achieve the desired results. All these modes will help you to reach your audience in a much more effective way and none will leave behind hence covering all of your audience at once.
